The 27th annual edition of the Black & Blue Festival in Montreal will be presented from October 5 to 9 under the LUMINOCITY theme. This year, festival participants will celebrate Montreal’s diversity under the effects of lights —an homage to the city’s 375th Anniversary festivities.
The founding president of the BBCM Foundation, Robert J. Vezina, has organized the festival for 27 years to support organizations providing direct assistance to people with HIV/AIDS. The BBCM Foundation has already awarded more than $2 million in financial donations, as well as contributions such as free tickets for community organizations, products and services to the community, health promotion, etc. Black & Blue is also a tourism-related event. Since its conception, hundreds of thousands of tourists have converged in Montreal during the Canadian Thanksgiving & American Columbus Day Weekend with millions of dollars in economic benefits. Tourism Quebec and Tourism Montreal, two organizations that perceived the importance of the Festival and its evolution through the years, also fund it.
LUMINOCITY 2017 BLACK & BLUE: Montreal shines bright!
From October 5 to 9, Montreal will move to the beat of the Black & Blue Festival. The main event will be held overnight in the spectacular Pierre-Charbonneau Center (located in the Olympic Park at 3000 Viau Street, Viau subway station) on Sunday, October 8th from 10 pm to 10 am the following morning.
Renowned DJs include KEV-J (Montréal), Erez Ben Ishay (Tel Avivi), ROGER SANCHEZ (New York) and VICTOR CALDERONE (New York). It is very rare to have both Roger Sanchez and Victor Calderone, two incredible DJs, perform at the same event! Shows will also be presented all-night, in an immersive dance floor with cutting edge lighting technology, in a unique and totally festive ambiance.
