PRIAPE BECOMES THE BLACK & BLUE PRINCIPAL TITLE SPONSOR !
The BBCM team is working actively on its revamped Black & Blue Festival, which will take place from October 9 to 15. For its 23rd edition, the organizers will offer novelty by presenting the Black & Blue main event at an entirely new venue offering many possibilities and new excitement: L’Arsenal.
Additionally, the Black & Blue Festival is proud to announce its new major partnership with the Priape group. Priape has been a loyal sponsor of the Black & Blue since its beginnings in the 90’s, but for this year’s Black & Blue, Priape has confirmed its participation as a Principal Title Sponsor and, as such, will be more involved than ever. The BBCM and the Priape teams will work jointly on many aspects of the festival, including the creative, promotional and logistics levels. As Denis Leblanc, Managing Director at Priape says: “It is with great enthusiasm that the Priape team is joining forces with BBCM and Saint at Large for the 23rd edition of the Black and Blue Festival as the principal partner. We are currently working hard to present you high quality events anda lot of surprises.”
Following the announcement of its major partnership with New York’s Saint at Large, a few weeks ago, the BBCM is confident that the elaboration of the Black & Blue Festival will benefit from the know-how and the experience of all the partners involved. A few meetings with thePriape and The Saint representatives have confirmed that this team is a winning one and that these partnerships will ensure a very special and successful Black & Blue for 2013.
The President of the Black & Blue, Robert Vezina, points out: “We are excited to begin a new era of events with the selection of L’Arsenal as a major innovative space, a great way for BBCM to increase the success of the Foundation and the generated proceeds in order to help community groups. Our new partnerships with Priape and The Saint will help us reach our goals.”
The choice of L’Arsenal as the new venue seemed perfect and necessary to bring some freshness to the main Black & Blue event. During the mid-19th century, this industrial space served as a shipyard, constructing and servicing commercial sea-vessels. Today, the converted shipyard complex is home to contemporary art. While the building’s preserved interior and exteriorarchitectural features attest to its rich industrial past, L’Arsenal now embraces the present by showcasing Canadian and international contemporary art and special events. This spectacular 41 000 sq.ft. space includes art galleries, an artist studio, a multimedia room, and two enormous rooms that can be subdivided and transformed to fit any type and size of event, where the Black & Blue Party will be held.
Founded in 1974, Priape is Canada’s premiere gay lifestyle store and sex shop. With unique shops located in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary, and a successful online boutique (Priape.com), it provides a wide range of goods catering to bisexual and gay men in over 80 countries. Priape is a one-stop shop that serves as a hub for gay life. In a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, customers can find what they need to fully live out their lives as men.
It is with great enthusiasm and optimism that the BBCM team looks to the future alongside the Priape and the Saint at Large teams.
